From Harvard to Homecoming: The Culture Stayed Winning 💪🏾

HBCU brilliance hit every lane this week — from PVAMU research labs to Delaware State’s record-breaking field day.

In partnership with

👋🏾 Hey fam,

Fall is doing what it does best — bringing that cool breeze, homecoming energy, and HBCU excellence that just don’t quit. From Harvard halls to packed stadiums, this week’s stories are pure proof that we don’t just show up — we show out.

Let’s get into it👇🏾

👗 Fashion? Impeccable. Homecoming? Unmatched.

The yard is the runway — and HBCU students are serving looks with legacy. From NC A&T to Morgan State, these homecoming fits had everybody double-tapping and screenshotting. The girls (and the fellas) did not come to play.

🪙 HU Alum Hit the Lottery — Literally and Fashionably!

A Howard grad just bagged $2M from the DC Lottery and pulled up in a full gold fit — top hat, shades, the works. She said “soft life only” and we felt that in our spirit. ✨

🚨 When Homecoming Joy Turned to Heartbreak

Tragic news out of Tuskegee, Jackson State, and South Carolina State — gunfire disrupted celebrations that should’ve been all about unity. The HBCU family is standing together in prayer and calling for real safety reforms on our campuses. 🙏🏾

💼 Paid. Remote. HBCU-Friendly Internships Are Live!

The fall 2025 update just dropped — and it’s full of opportunities built for us. From NASA to nonprofit orgs, you’ll find paid gigs where your culture and creativity are a strength, not a checkbox.

🎓 PVAMU Senior Took Harvard by Storm — and Brought His HBCU Spirit With Him

Kaelen Baly, a Prairie View A&M psychology major, spent his summer at Harvard doing neuroscience research as part of the Du Bois Scholars Program. His journey wasn’t just about the lab — it was about legacy.

💭 “My presence at Harvard was the product of generations. Just being myself was my ancestors’ wildest dream.”

💡 Why It Matters: When HBCU brilliance walks into Ivy League spaces, it doesn’t just fit in — it redefines the room. Kaelen’s story reminds us that partnership, purpose, and pride can coexist beautifully. 🧠✨

From her best-selling crop bombers to matching sets that scream “game day fly,” Donecia is stitching legacy into every thread.

🔥 DeSean Jackson’s Hornets Ran It Up — Literally.

The Delaware State Hornets didn’t just win homecoming — they dominated. Under head coach DeSean Jackson, the team dropped 70–23 on Southern Connecticut, racking up 791 total yards and breaking two program records. 💥

Jackson told reporters, “Every down matters — no let-up.” That’s the HBCU energy we love to see.

✨ Why it matters:  This win was bigger than the scoreboard — it was about a culture shift. Jackson’s leadership is rebuilding Delaware State’s swagger from the ground up. MEAC better watch out. 🐝
